Lively Weather, Summer's Better: My Summer Picks

Welcome to summer at The Klutzo! I've finally relinquished my high school vocation as an underclassmen in exchange for the ultimate badge of honor in those white blanketed halls: The Senior Distinction.  Alas, I am officially a Senior as of last week when I said ta-ta to the restrictions set upon the youth, eagerly welcoming my rightful position atop the echelon of secondary school. In the words of the rapper J.Cole: Mama, we made it.  Now that perpetual warm weather has come to save me from the dreariness of winter (and the second semester of junior year), I have all the time in the world to update my dear blog. First up, an outfit catalog which showcases where my style tendencies currently are for the summer. Enjoy!

While creeping on Topshop (per usual), I caught wind of the new development taking place in fashion. Print madness. The inclusion of dazzling prints has become characteristic of many a person's summertime wardrobe and these ornate designs are no longer exclusive to the daring few. It's almost a shame to leave out  such fanciful pieces due to an overbearing affinity for plain wear. These are the pieces that bring the fun and spontaneity so representative of summer. I paired the floral orange midriff shirt with the leaf adorned shorts to create an unusual, but totally viable contrast. To offset the slightly wild pairing I added two solid elements, the shoes and the purse. The sunny shade of the purse works well with the outfit  and the blanched shoes don't compete with the vibrancy of the other pieces.

This bandana allied outfit just screams effortless cool. The juxtapose of the army-esque pants and the button-down print is a match made in heaven; it the perfect mixture of lethal combination of tough sartorial charm. It sort of reminds me of a cross between a brawny army brat and a chill art fanatic both equally aware of the expressive powers of clothing. The look gets toned down with the inclusion of chunky black heels that are becoming a force in the fashion world. I have a pair of these sort of heels and I've got to salute their comfortableness: that platform works wonders for weathered feet. The studded purse adds summer airiness and doubles as a neat container for a book or a great orangy lipstick.

"Yeah, mayne. We getting turnt up over here!" No? Okay, I guess I can't hang with the homies, but this outfit sure can! Basically, this look can be summed up as the epitome of the girl that can hang with the bros. The semi-androgynous camo shirt works nicely with the mesh material circle skirt, tucking it in makes for the coolest combo. Air-force ones are present fixtures during all seasons, but the classic sneakers are at their prime during the warm summer months due to their suave ease and sporty functionality. Tying the outfit together, the electric green sunglasses cast away overcast days, lending the fit a fierce edge that maintains its femininity and makes it a force to be reckoned with.
